SHOW IT!

Apparently, Canada and the US are eager to see what they are hearing from Malacanang.

The palace is consistent in declaring that they are seriously pursuing justice with regards to the alarming terroristic assassinations of militant groups leaders and members in the country.

But the two government insists that seeing is believing.

So show it Gloria! Show it na!

HITTING ONESELF
The recent pronouncement of the US legislators regarding the unabated extra-judicial killings in the country is a direct hit to its executive-military institution.
It is no secret that the US forces who maintains a base in the southern Philippines is training our soldiers regarding anti-terrorism ek-ek.
We hope that the US legislature will move to put on hold the US-backed military trainings here until this government shows to the whole world that it is indeed sincere on ending the continuing terrorist attacks to the militant and progressive groups, media, and human rights lawyers.

ROBBING THE POOR

Our government, a truly experienced one, has truly mastered the art of deception. But it is sad to note though that the only people it deceives are its own constituents.

And now they are at it again. They are now drumming the boom beat again. And yet, they are not wasting any second to tell us what is really happening behind the glossy, happy, and bright picture they show us.

They dare not say that by squeezing out our meager income and by not using our collective money to social services, they did manage to lessen (by billions) our annual deficit.

They dare not say that by robbing us of our lives, they live. Because the question remains still: if our government did not spend the money to social services projects and programs, then where the hell did our money go?

Now, can they really provide real answer?

STALLED

Another problem. Another headache.

And all the way, the 2006 Nursing Board Exam passers are always the victim. The government will eventually give way to what the CGFNS wants. The appeals move is a futile one, but they still do it for the purpose of media mileage.

NAPAKO

Some people say that promises are made to be broken.

And now, folks from Nueva Valencia are starting to realize that this saying is partly, if not entirely, true.

PRIORITIZING

This administration indeed has its plan. And they are setting their priorities according to their “plan”.

The plan is Oplan Makabayan: an anti-insurgency drive that ambitiously aims for the eradication of the rebellion and the primary movers of it in the country. The objective: to build the President’s Strong Republic.

And understandably, that plan doesn’t include the economic alleviation of its citizens, specifically those who comprises the majority of the Filipino populace. That plan puts into the backburner the lowering of the prices of medicines in the country, and completely shelves the P125 wage hike across the board.

That plan therefore, is completely anti-people and anti-human rights.

HANDS FULL

Iloilo Governor Niel Tupas has his hands full facing the menace brought by the Ombudsman’s decision to permanently bar him from seeking any government post by means of elections.

And while parrying off the attacks, three inmates of the new Iloilo Rehabilitation Center miraculously escaped the newly built Provincial Jail.

That would be another punch to the Governor’s head.

RABID

The AFP growls upon hearing the news regarding the Human Security Act. They received their bone to play with and yet, they did not even bother to say thank you, at least, that very moment they first received he news.

The AFP, with all its might, arm, and connections, are complaining that the HAS, to them is a soft version of the Anti-Terror Law thay are dreaming for many years.

This made me wonder about the strength and capability of the AFP to stop the insurgency, without using the term terrorism against the insurgents, its supporters and political ally.

NAKA-PAKYAW

Look at him!

That, ladies and gentlemen will soon become an added attraction on the deteriorating halls of the Lower House, more known as the Congress.

Well at least, maybe we can see him in the future, engaging a colleague not in a heated argument but in a fist fight, where he excels. We can also expect him to legalize the tupada’s and encourage young ones to stop studying, go on boxing, win, be a champ and then bet a million peso to a cockfight or a billiards game.

Sa tagalong, lumaki na ang ulo ni Pakyaw. At hindi na niya kayang dalhin pa ang kanyang ulo. His head now carries him.

To his death. Politically, at least.

COMPLAINT DESK.

At first glance, the local government and a local NGO’s effort to implement the Comprehensive Agreement for the Respect of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL) is a good sign towards the realization of peace through the peace process between the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP).

But considering the big picture, wherein community and sectoral leaders and media personalities that are perceived to be critical to the government are getting killed by terrorists with impunity in broad day light, this effort might result to… nothing.

Or maybe it will be used as another venue to tail the complainants and the NGO members that is maliciously tagged by the military as communist fronts.

We are hoping though that this skepticism should remain as skepticism. We will be very glad to be proven wrong. So many innocent lives and bright minds are being unreasonably wasted due to the military’s huge fear to the red specter.
